Sempervivum "Black"

$6.50

These are lovely plants that display super dark burgundy kind of color on the ends of leaves, and the middle is yellow or geen, depending on what time of year it is, how much light plant gets, etc. They will get the best color if they’re grown outdoors. (sempervivum should always be grown outside, it’s not an indoor type of plant at all) They are winter hardy, semps are the hardiest of all succulents, and can even handle temps as low as -20 F. Yes, negative! They will go dormant to withstand the extreme cold, and when they come out of dormancy is when they display their amazing colorations! It’s what i love about semps is that they are always changing with the seasons, they’re quite fun to grow. These may not have their best colors, the colors they have in spring after dormancy, but that’s bc they’ve been raised in a greenhouse. They will get nice color so long as the evenings are cool… Otherwise it will be next spring when they will display their spring colors. In my opinin, they’re always gorgeous! Even when they’re dormant, I think they are cute.
